Dr. Morris
Owner, Veterinarian
Dr. Morris grew up in Kingston, Jamaica. As a child she developed a strong love for dogs and cats. She always knew as a young child that she would become a veterinarian. Dr. Morris migrated to the United States in 1980 completing high school 3 years later at the age of 16. In 1987 she graduated from Rollins College, Winter Park, Florida with a BA degree in Biology. She then attended the University of Florida to do post baccalaureate studies in Microbiology. She received her DVM degree from Oklahoma State University in 1994, followed by advanced training at a medical and surgical intern at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. After leaving Tennessee, Dr. Morris moved to Atlanta in 1995 where she worked in a large multi doctor, multi hospital group practice for 8 years. It was working in this diverse environment that gave her the confidence and experience to open Morningside Animal Care Center in July 2003. Client education is an area that Dr. Morris especially enjoys. She likes Dermatology and Dentistry as nothing seems to make a pet and its owner happier than when the “itching and licking” stops and there is no bad breath!!! Outside work, Dr. Morris enjoys playing racquetball, table tennis and golf. She also likes to travel whenever she can get away.
Teresa
Teresa is the backbone of our hospital behind the scenes. She pays attention to all details to ensure your loved ones are cared for. She loves what she does and it shows in her dedication to your family members. Teresa is a licensed Veterinary Technician who has been in the veterinary field for over 15 years. She enjoys all aspects of her job but her favorite areas are cytology and dentistry. She loves taking before and after pictures of a dental cleaning – our clients are thoroughly impressed with the difference it makes. Teresa has a supportive husband, Mitch, two sons, Ryan and Matthew, her dog, Sydney and her 3 cats, Jag, Angel, and Tigger. She enjoys spending time outdoors, riding bikes and four wheelers with her family.
Brittany
Brittany joined the Morningside team April of 2017. Her bright smile is the first thing you see when you enter the building. She’s the receptionist and handles all our social media profiles. She’s currently in school studying Social Media Marketing Management. She is very outgoing and friendly. She has a beautiful son Jace and a huge pitbull Kane at home that she loves very much. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, and cooking.
Faith
Faith started at Morningside as a volunteer back in August of 2015. She is a vet assistant here at Morningside. She is a student at Georgia Gwinnett College while maintaining two jobs, here and Chick-fil-a. She loves spending time with our boarders and learning new things. She is obsessed with Pitbulls. She has two rescues at home Raja and Rani. She enjoys painting, doing henna, and she loves to volunteer at her church by teaching Sunday school.
Luna
Luna is the newest member of the Morningside family. She is originally from Indiana and has been in Georgia permanently since 2015. She began her journey with us as a volunteer, now she is a full time vet assistant. She has a beautiful 5 year old lab named Nila. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to church, and sports. She is planning on returning to school to become a certified vet tech.
Destinee Jackson
In Memory of Ms. Beverly
Ms. Beverly helped open the practice in 2003 and was the office manager. She had over 30 years’ experience in Accounting and Business Management and brought those skills along with her cheerful demeanor. Ms. Beverly passed away June 15, 2016 and is truly missed here at Morningside every single day.
Jack-O-Kitty
Jack is our newest team member. He was found in a parking lot and came to us the week of Halloween 2013 (hence the name) when he was 4 weeks old. He enjoys greeting our clients and patients. In the afternoon, he can be found sunbathing in our lobby awaiting our next guest.
